The day after our Museum event the sun was shining and it was almost as if overnight Doncaster was a better place to be. We decided to walk into town for lunch and see Callum and Joey at the Greenhouse (their roasted cauliflower dish is awesome). As we passed Sine FM on Netherhall Road the windows happened to be open and music filled street ..then on to the market and more incidental music from open doors. Wow, this felt good. How about a music festival with a difference?
Doncaster Music Trail Live? Walk through the town with a map connecting up with different outdoor live musical genres.. an urban Glastonbury (never actually been!). The trick here is to use some of our forgotten green spaces, unloved playgrounds, intimate corners, quirky unused Victorian balconies and not the obvious locations. Importantly it would make people walk and connect with our streets, our architecture and each other. As Wayne Hemingway pointed out the young 'love to dance'. When did you last see people dancing in the streets of Doncaster? :-)
